An ad released late last week by the opposition to the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) has raised many eyebrows, and caused many to question the premise. Portraying an attack on a young girl in a public bathroom, and even renaming the ordinance ‘the Bathroom Ordinance,’ the ad has many saying its a new low. In response Mayor Parker has encouraged the media analyze the claim it makes, and the Houston police chief is outlining what laws are already on the books to protect citizens from such an incident.
