Just days after the Houston city council put the HERO anti-discrimination ordinance on the November ballot, the leading group opposed to the law – who petitioned for a repeal election – are suing again to change the ballot wording. The mayor has already responded formally and was quite animated about it on a radio program Friday afternoon. She points out the city used wording proposed in the plaintiffs own original public petition calling for a repeal.
