Coinciding with the Service Unites: Conference on Volunteerism and Service convened by the Points of Light Foundation, Houston served as the epicenter for a new Guinness World Record attempt. Seeking to bring together the most children reading with an adult in a 24 period, Houstonians – both famous, and not so famous – gathered with others in cities through out the world to put a new spotlight on childhood literacy.
