Several states around the nation in the last few years raised their minimum wages, and now legislators are debating the issue for Texas. Hearings in Austin on Monday centered around 3 possible bills, with many advocates out in force. Citing the current federal minimum of $7.25 per hour as a poverty wage in Texas some are calling for a raise to just above $10, or even $15 per hour. But others in the business economy warn of job loses with a raise.
