Boy Who Survived Crossfire in Syrian Civil War Seeks Help in Houston for a New Leg

While the stories of civil strife in Syria usually seem far away from Houston, many with ties to that region are trying to help where they can. Families connected with the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund have just brought a 15 year old, Mohammed Jamous, to Houston to receive help with a prosthetic leg. The boy lost it during an artillery attack in August that also took the lives of two young friends. While living with a Houston host family, he tries to stay connected to his family, via Skype, who is now relocated to a refugee camp in Jordan.
