Houston Chronicle’s Goodfellows Toy Drive Launches

The Houston Chronicle has launched it’s annual Goodfellows effort, now entering it’s 101st year. Goodfellows is a nonprofit organization that was created and run by the paper with funds donated by readers, employees and business partners. Proceeds are used entirely to purchase toys. Last year, Houston’s generosity enabled Goodfellows to provide toys to nearly 60,000 children in almost 18,000 families.

In order to reach families in greatest need, toy recipients are determined though the Texas Health and Human Services Office of Eligibility. Donors are mentioned by name both in the paper and online (unless anonymity is requested), and large donors are thanked publicly. All are deeply appreciated.

In order to donate to families profiled in the Goodfellows stories, visit the donation page here.
