Emergency Food Pantry: Extended Hours for Working Families

To better serve people in need who work, but don’t have enough to put food on the table, the Houston Food Bank has recently opened a food pantry on-site of its headquarters on 535 Portwall Street. Run in collaboration with the Emergency Aid Coalition, this facility offers extended hours on evenings and weekend for working people who cannot reach a community based food pantry otherwise.

Houston Food Bank provides the facility and all of the food. The Emergency Aid CoalitionĀ  providesstaffing and volunteers for operation of the Emergency Food Pantry. Emergency Aid Coalition has been a partner agency of the Houston Food Bank for almost 25 years.
