Heat and lingering drought in the past year and half (still ongoing in much of the western state) has killed off more than just our favorite traditions along our Texas water ways and farm lands. In an effort to protect Texas athletes, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) this season is seriously limiting the tradition of two-a-days, long considered a staple of summer football training camps. Will our Friday Night Lights shine as bright without them? Time will tell, but lives and health will certainly be protected.
