This week saw the kick-off of the National Donate Life Month activities in Houston. More than 117,000 individuals are waiting for organ transplants nationally, with one dying every 18 minutes who cannot find a match. The nonprofit organization Life Gift estimates that more than 3.6 million Texans have registered, but far more are needed to find potential matches.
