UPDATE (12/11/12): Houston’s Postal Service Elves Could Use Your Help (Chron.com)
Operation Santa, the United Postal Service’s outreach program to kids who write to Santa Claus, enters its 100th year this month. Founded in New York City, it not only has quite a history behind it, but has quite some heart-breaking work for itself this year after Hurricane Sandy hit that region. Locally, postal worker “elves” are also hard at work seeking to help many local Houston area children as possible. As KPRC recently profiled, local elves are sorting through letters out of the Sam Houston Parkway facility, where they expect to go through 75,000 letters from our Houston area children.
