Rice University’s 31st Houston Area Survey Continues to Show Us Who We Are & Who We Are Becoming

This week is a big one for the Dr Stephen Klineberg and the staff at Rice University’s Kinder Institute. Along with the release of the 2012 Annual Houston Survey (Report – PDF link) on Wednesday, there will be a public unveiling of a documentary Interesting Times on the history of the study itself, now running steady for 31 years.

Some of the finding of the latest survey are quite telling: an improving local economy while concerns about inequality are simultaneously increasing; a desire for more public transit; and, a continued marvel at the city becoming the most ethnically diverse in the nation. (Video: Rice University)

Friday night (April 27th) Discovery Green will also host a public screening of the new documentary on Dr Klineberg and the history of the Houston Area Survey. (Video: ttweak)
