Community Partners Come Together To Help Those Trapped by Flood Waters

With water rising fast in the southeast side of the city yesterday, some families in apartment complexes, as well as kids from area schools, had to rely on the Houston Fire Department, The American Red Cross and even city dump trucks in order to evacuate. (KTRK video below)

About 40 families had to stay overnight in the Red Cross Shelter opened at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church overnight, but they were not the only ones who made use of the refuge. Because flooding made it impossible for parents to even get near the schools it became a meeting place for parents to be reunited with their kids.  (KRIV Video below)
