The Houston mayor and area law enforcement officials announced a new campaign to address human trafficking in our city. With proximity to international border and major trade routes, the city already sees more issues with individuals pressed into illegal sex work or forced labor. But with more big events like the Super Bowl coming to the city, officials want to expand efforts to curtail the problem. Accordingly they are launching a multi-year effort that engages and educates more people in how to identify those being held, as well as how to report suspected traffickers.
