Dr James ‘Red’ Duke, a medical legend with a larger then life personality and charisma has passed away at 86. An icon at Memorial Hermann Hospital and the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, he is best known for helping pioneering medical air ambulances through the Memorial Hermann Life Flight program, and for advancing innovations and education in trauma care. But he has become a beloved figure beyond the medical community because of his frequent local and syndicated television appearances.
