Early this week — and just in time to potentially influence law makers in Austin — the members of the Harris County Health Care Alliance released an exhaustive report on the health of the Houston region.
Citing everything from health care coverage, to rates of obesity, smoking, heart disease, and environmental quality (among many others), the reports presents a picture of a community in desperate need of better health care.
And while some of the finding point to the need for better personal choices, others points to potential policy changes that might be necessary.
