While much national outrage has been evident after the President’s preliminary budget appeared to zero-out Meals on Wheels, private donations and volunteers have actually increased around the nation. However, staff and advocates of Houston’s own Meals on Wheels, (operated by Interfaith Ministries of Greater Houston) emphasize the importance of a continued federal contribution to the program that feeds home-bound seniors.
