Houston area college students interested in social justice issues are invited to apply and join the inaugural class of The Libra Project.
The Libra Project is a three-day leadership program in August designed for Houston college students to dig into big issues like race, privilege, class, culture, gender, etc through experiential workshops and peer dialogue. The goal is to better recognize and understand bias and prejudice and to work toward a more just world.
The project was founded in the belief that Houston social circles and neighborhoods are becoming more homogeneous as we self-select into environments with people who look like us – creating more misunderstanding and fear. The 3 day program seeks to address this by providing an opportunity for Houston-area college students to learn from and share with peers with very different life experiences. Overall organizers hope students will come away with an increased understanding of their complex communities and the importance of a just, inclusive society and leadership tools for their futures.
Applications are due April 10th. To learn more click here.
