Houston’s Homeless Meet the Mayor During Registry Week Drive

Over 100 homeless advocates and Mayor Annise Parker worked together Tuesday on Registry Week activities. This week-long event will seek to locate and begin work with 2,500 chronic homeless persons who it is estimated use up to 75% of the city’s homeless resources. Mayor Parker’s office estimates that homeless in the city overall cost the city over $103 million each year. Details of the event should be available later in the month.
