
EARTH DAY is officially April 22nd, the historical anniversary of the first such event in 1970. And it’s a date accepted internationally, too. Yet in Houston, we have several events bearing that name and theme happening throughout this month.
Sure that’s a Monday this year, and most organizers prefer to book events like this for a weekend. However, we hope the number of events all using the same name is not the start of another schism like that we see every Martin Luther King Day in Houston. The Earth needs us to work together folks. And considering the Houston Space Center’s role in originally inspiring Earth Day, we should be playing ball together. But in the interim, we everyone can attend one or more of these great happenings profiled in the video below.
