This week we’ve seen awareness days devoted to getting our kids to walk to school, and getting out to meet our neighbors. But why do we know less about our neighborhoods? Or feel less secure in walking through them then we did in the past? At least one Houston leader, David Crossley of Houston Tomorrow, has taken a look and finds it may be connected to our automobiles as much as fear of dangers out on our streets, or preoccupation with media.
