Just as the UN winds up another round of climate negotiations in Durban, South Africa, struggling on issues of a climate fund for underdeveloped nations, comes a review from our own national weather service about 2011’s extreme weather and the costs associated with it.

These findings are only for the US, but as we reported in News Links a few weeks ago they are comparable to concerns reported out by the International Panel on Climate Change prior to the climate conference opening. (Video below)
