Gracie Cavnar, local founder of Recipe for Success Foundation, has garnered national honors twice in the same month. Last week Town & Country Magazine honored her with a Women Who Make A Difference honor. And then last night Self Magazine similarly recognized her with a Women Who Do Good Award — an honor that came complete with a guest appearance yesterday on the Today Show with her fellow winners.
The Recipe for Success mission is to combat childhood obesity by changing the way children understand, appreciate and eat their food, and by educating and mobilizing the community to provide healthier diets for children. They do this by seeking to develop a comprehensive experiential learning program that makes healthy food fun, and we work to make healthy food available to a broader community.
To learn more about her philosophy and mission be sure to see her TedXHouston presentation too. Congratulations Gracie!
