Debate Comes to Texas on a Higher Minimum Wage

Several states around the nation in the last few years raised their minimum wages, and now legislators are debating the issue for Texas. Hearings in Austin on Monday centered around 3 possible bills, with many advocates out in force. Citing the current federal minimum of $7.25 per hour as a poverty wage in Texas some are calling for a raise to just above $10, or even $15 per hour. But others in the business economy warn of job loses with a raise.

Houston Area Medical Students Learn Their Future

An annual tradition hit Houston area medical schools on Friday as graduating 4th year students received their residency matches. Match Day, is a national initiative with medical schools and hospitals around the nation participating in facilitating matches for new doctors.
