On Friday, UT Health Medical School graduated 216 medical students into doctors. Among them was a young MD familiar to the profession because it runs in his family. Peter Denton Kaldis, MD is actually the grandson of Dr Denton Cooley, and the son of the famed heart surgeon’s daughter, herself an ophthalmologist. But even that is just the tip of the iceberg of all the relatives in the profession. (KTRK Video)
And if all that isn’t surprising enough, don’t assume this all began with Dr Denton Cooley, himself. Recently Dr Cooley reminisced about his own family inspiration, his father Dr Ralph Cooley, was a noted Houston area dentist.
