Recognizing A Hero: Carnegie Medal Goes to Montgomery County Resident

On Wednesday, Montgomery County resident Thomas H. Porter, is to be awarded the Carnegie Medal for heroic actions he took in January 2011 to save the life of a young girl who was trapped in an automobile wreck and fire. The medal is one of 21 given by the Carnegie Hero Fund to residents of the US and Canada who risk their lives to an extraordinary degree while saving, or attempting to save, the lives of others.
