Christmas Tree Recycling in Houston

News that a Christmas tree last night caused a multi-alarm fire destroying four townhomes last night points out the need to address Christmas trees at then end of the holidays.

The City of Houston has announced that it will be accepting trees and used wrapping paper at all of the city’s recycling centers. The trees will be turned into compost.

Here is a list of locations and hours of operations:

Open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

8  Memorial Park (Ball Fields 4 and 5), 7300 Memorial Drive
9  T.C. Jester Park, 4200 T.C. Jester West
10  Kingwood, Bens View Lane at Bens Branch Drive
11  Elington Airport Recycling Drop-off, HWY 3 at Brantley Roa

Open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All locations will be closed on New Year’s Day and Jan. 2, 2012.
And must be dropped off before January 8, 2012.
